Dr.
Paul has been active in Counseling and Education for over 15
years addressing issues ranging from Relationships to
Developmental
Disorders to Death and Dying. His primary focus is on Personal
Growth and Happiness and it is within this scope that he has created
his Addictions Workshop Programs. He is the creator of Mercurial
Intensive Therapy (MIT) which, due to its intensity, is never published
and is utilized only with carefully selected and prepared
clients and under the strictist supervision. A
modified version of MIT is used in the addictions workshops and
contributes to their exclusive nature.
Dr. Paul is a long standing member of the International Center for the
Study of Psychiatry and Psychology (ICSPP) and is a Founding Member of
the International Association of Counselors and Therapists (IACT).
Dr. Paul has served as a Family/Child and Couples Mediator for the
Milford and Nashua, NH Mediation Programs for the past 14 years. He is also a well trained Marital/Divorce mediator.
He has served as a Co-Meditation Instructor for both Hospices and families over a period of 9 years and has personally assisted numerous individuals in the death and dying process. He developed, implemented, and presented commentary on a course for teaching the Theory and Practice of Co-Meditation to complete his Ph.D. (Counseling). Additionally, he also served as a Hypnotherapist/Educator providing seminars and workshops for the National Guild of Hypnotists over a period of 10 years.
In
recent years, he has worked extensively with dual diagnosis clients who
exhibit dependent drug issues and with moderate to severely
behavioural children and young adults assisting them in adjusting to
daily living. Many of these individuals are autistic and/or
living with other aspects of PDD (persistent and/or pervasive
developmental disorders), some are recovering from TBI (traumatic brain
injuries), and others are patients with shortened life expectancies due
to tuberous sclerosis, cerebral palsy, or other disorders. In
conjunction with his work in drug related counseling, Dr. Paul
completed post graduate courses in theory and psychopharmacology at
Antioch and State courses related to Urinalysis and Legal Processing.
Dr. Paul took a 3 year leave to home school his son, Colin, and produce several email and web forum magazines relating to health and wellness.
In addition, Dr. Paul served as President of HEAL-NE, a non-profit for 10 years, advisor to HEAL-NYC for 13 years, and assisted numerous other health non-profits throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. He also sat on the Board of Directors for INTEGRA, Inc. (a Ma.based rehabilitation/reintegration service) for 6 years and acted as advisor to its Human Rights Committee for 2 years.
Dr. Paul served as an Adjunct Course Instructor for the Keene State College Psychology Dept. Addictions Program for 2 years. He provided numerous seminars and weekly courses, including his own Feelings Group and Creative Happiness Programs, for both the Marathon and Phoenix House Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers in NH. Additionally, he designed, and acted as Director for, the Marathon Transitional Living Program and provided State Certified services to both the Kickstart and Academy Youthful Offender programs associated with both Marathon and the Probation Department. He also served on numerous internal committees such as the Facility Safety Committee and the Forms Review Committee and performed internal audits for both facilities.
Dr. Paul has received numerous presentation awards as well as a
Mediator of the Year award. He has been interviewed on radio
stations and in newspapers and magazines on both coasts, has been a
guest on several health related local TV programs in NYC, and has been
published in many magazines and websites including several articles
still available on OfSpirit.com
